Click for larger image and component description.   The LS double reduction, double helical gear reducer is manufactured under the monogram of the American Petroleum Institute (API) and to API Q1 quality parameters. The LS reducer has enhanced properties that allow increased torque capacity with our state of the art gear design, as well as advantages in tooth pitting resistance and bending capabilities. The gear system encompasses dual high speed gears and pinions for balanced loading. All gearing is manufactured from cast steel and the pinions are made from forged steel head treated and stress relieved to insure maximum performance. Lubricating oil is distributed to the bearings and gears via a splash system and oil troughs. For over 40 years, thousands of LS reducers have been serving customers worldwide.
